Jockey Jorge F. Hernandez was taken by ambulance to Monmouth Medical Middle for “analysis and X-rays,” in keeping with Monmouth Park Medical Director Dr. Angelo Chinnici, after being unseated from his mount in Sunday’s third race.
Hernandez, a local of Santiago, Chile, who’s in his first summer time of using at Monmouth Park, went down on the half-mile pole in the course of the 5 1/2-furlong claiming race on the turf when his mount, Brennan’s Conflict, took a nasty step. The horse didn’t undergo any accidents.
Hernandez was complaining of ache to his left arm and collarbone, in keeping with Chinnici.
