Per a HISA spokesperson:

The Horseracing Integrity and Security Authority, Inc.’s (“HISA”) mission is to guard the wellbeing of equine and human athletes, in addition to the integrity of Thoroughbred racing.  Based mostly on latest stories and assessments from racetrack floor consultants, considerations raised by on-site racing contributors, and firsthand observations of HISA workers, HISA isn’t assured that the principle observe racing floor at Turf Paradise is prepared for racing to start as presently scheduled this Saturday, November 2.  Subsequently, out of considerations for the security of horses and riders, HISA has communicated a suggestion to Turf Paradise and the Arizona Division of Gaming to delay the beginning of the upcoming meet and stop all coaching and racing actions on the principle observe racing floor till such time as sufficient changes and preparations have been made and the observe has been retested to confirm conformance with trade requirements. HISA will proceed to watch the scenario and should provoke an enforcement motion if mandatory.

(Editor’s Notice: Turf Paradise fell out of compliance with HISA in early 2023 over alleged violations of its Racetrack Security Program guidelines and lack of cost in HISA evaluation charges. It later reached a compliance settlement.)Join BloodHorse Each day
