Laura Collett ‘full steam ahead’ to eventing return following surgery

European eventing champion Laura Collett is again using following surgical procedure and is predicted to return to competitors this week.
The 2022 Badminton winner has two horses entered at Barefoot Retreats Burnham Market this weekend (17 to 19 April). Laura’s five-star mares Hester, owned by Lucy Nelson, and Bling, owned by Yvonne Ferguson, are among the many CCI4*-S subject.

“Two weeks publish op and again in my glad place,” stated Laura on Sunday, including that the Collett group is now “full steam forward” in returning to eventing subsequent weekend.
Earlier this week she additionally posted footage of her seven leaping classes with British Equestrian eventing efficiency supervisor Dickie Waygood and stated it’s “good to be again” and that “all horses are feeling fab”.
Laura, a three-time five-star winner, re-injured her collarbone in a cross-country education fall this spring. She had initially damaged her collarbone in November 2025, which required surgical procedure final 12 months.

On 27 March, she stated that she had a “freak fall” in coaching, owing to the low solar, which displaced the plate and re-injured her collarbone. The horse was superb.

Laura began her season efficiently at Tweseldown and Lincolnshire, however stated that though she had managed a few occasions, she wanted an operation to “get it mounted”.

The double Olympic group gold medallist is entered at Mars Badminton Horse Trials (7 to 10 Could) on Bling, with whom she completed tenth at Defender Burghley in 2025.
